Many of you will be reading this email having met a Workers' Climate Action activist over the past six months, signed up to find out more about the network and not heard back. A number of you will be involved in WCA and just not got on the email list yet. This is mainly due to a technical problem with riseup, who host it.

The point is over the last period Workers' Climate Action has been very active in it's two main areas of activity; Both building within the radical environmentalist movement, mainly the camp for climate action, on the basis of a fighting, class struggle politics, as well as working to raise an ecological politics, and many of the environmental movement's methods of working and organising within the wider workers' movement.

Workers' Climate Activists have been instrumental in agitating for, organising, supporting and building solidarity with the occupation of Vestas blades by its workers in response to the announcement of the plant's closure. Vestas is Britains' only onshore wind turbine factory situated on the Isle of Wight. Closure would mean mass [very poor] redundancies, further unemployment in an area where there is already a crisis in the amount of available work, and a catastrophic loss of skills and capacity in an industry so central in the fight against climate change.
