If Monday the 21st is ok with everyone (not many responses) I will get onto finding us a suitable venue (free of charge). Shall we say a lunchtime meet of 1pm, to start getting back to our time and day rotation?

Also Gemma could you send me the email address you are talking about as i wasn't aware this existed and I will get onto Richard so we can keep updated should we wish at any point to be involved with this.

Anna

x

> Date: Sat, 5 Sep 2009 08:13:54 -0700
> From: tumbleweed_freed@riseup.net
> CC: radical_childcare@lists.aktivix.org
> Subject: Re: [Radical_childcare] Help needed with Childcare
>
> to add: i wont be back in london til friday 18th sept, so for me i would
> like to meet either friday 18th or monday 21st, but thats just for me, and
> understand if people wanna meet sooner than that
> xx
>
>
> > hi all,
> >
> > had wicked time at camp, think it went really well, although ive got some
> > niggles too, def up for meeting for debreif: do we know if this will be a
> > weekend or weekday? i think as the last few meetings have been weekends we
> > suggested that we should do a monday/other meeting this time?
> >
> > cnat do 12th childcare im afraid as its my neices bday, but definately use
> > the tat, we should make it clear to all that its for everybody to use
> > (thats my understanding).
> >
> > as some people know, resulting from my personal experiences at this years
> > camp and knowledge of past camps, i have become very vary of the climate
> > camp 'PR media circus' and am very untrusting of how 'some members' are so
> > willing to put kids in danger in expense for their own 'brand name'
> > credibilities. we can discuss this in more detail in our meeting, and i
> > dont want to put other people off the idea of the 'swoop' stuff but i
> > definately think its a bad idea!
> >
> > we do have a kids@climatecamp email address but this wouild mean keeping
> > it going and checking it etc- is this necessary? can we give the radical
> > childcare email address? (not to the list but just to the single email).
> >
> > think we all did a fab job of the kidspace and had a few comments that it
> > was the best ever! the kids march was also great fun for kids n us!
> >
> > xxxxxxxx
> >
> >>
> >> Hi Everyone,
> >>
> >> Hope everyone is beginning to recover from the Camp! I'm really pleased
> >> with how it went, with only a few small niggles which would be good to
> >> discuss at our next meeting with a de-brief of how everybody felt the
> >> camp
> >> kidspace went. Does anyone want to suggest a good date and time that it
> >> would be good for everyone meet? I am very flexible, so i'll leave it
> >> open to suggestions. We need to be thinking about finding a regular
> >> indoor meeting space I think, as the weather is definitely turning!
> >>
> >> Secondly, I've been asked to provide some childcare at the LCAP (London
> >> Coaltion Against Poverty) Annual General Meeting on 12th September
> >> between
> >> 12-4pm. I have said I will do it, does anyone fancy joining me? or know
> >> of anyone who would want to help, even for some of it if you cant make
> >> it
> >> all. I was going to grab some of the Climate Camp Tat which should now
> >> be
> >> back at LARC if that is ok with everyone?
> >>
> >> Lastly, I was approached at the camp by a guy called Richard Howlet who
> >> is involved in organising the Great Climate Swoop happening on the 18th
> >> October. He has just emailed me, and it is as follows;
> >>
> >> Hi Anna,
> >> We spoke about kids at the Great Climate Swoop whilst at the camp over
> >> the
> >> last few days. Hope you remember me.
> >> I
> >> just thought i'd drop you an email to see if you'd be up for joining
> >> the Great Climate Swoop e-list. What do you think? It would be great to
> >> have someone who is really aware of the needs of parents and children
> >> within the group.
> >> There is also an organising
> >> meeting in Nottingham at the Sumac centre on Sat 12th Sept. Creche
> >> facilities are planned as another parent - Emily James - will be
> >> coming. Would you or another person from kidspace be able to make it?
> >> Just
> >> so you know there was a fair bit of talk about the need for a legal
> >> march and the possibility of some kind of fixed site at the working
> >> group rep meeting yesterday.
> >> Cheers!
> >> Richard
> >>
> >>
> >> When I spoke to richard at the camp I said i would feed into the group
> >> and
> >> see what everyones thoughts were. However I did express my own personal
> >> concerns to him at the time. These were 1. As a group we are aware and
> >> concerned that a 'Kids block' leading a march is something which has had
> >> many problems in the past and carries many media based connotations.
> >> and
> >> 2. The target of the swoop is in Nottingham and is probably going to
> >> span
> >> 2 days, so some fixed infrastructure would be quite important for a kids
> >> prescence.
> >>
> >> Anyways, firstly he is asking if i want to be added to the organising
> >> mailing list as a 'voice for kids and parents'. I am happy to do this,
> >> however I would feel more comfortable if we put the group address
> >> forward
> >> (Gemma, you mentioned we have one right?) and also I am not a parent.
> >>
> >> Secondly he has invited (us) to the organising meeting in Nottingham on
> >> the 12th September. As I've said above i've already committed to the
> >> LCAP
> >> childcare, but would anyone else fancy going?
> >>
> >> I think that's it for now, sorry for such a looooong email,
> >>
> >> See you all soon
> >>
> >> Anna
> >>
> >>
> >>
> >>
> >>
> >>
> >> _________________________________________________________________
> >> View your other email accounts from your Hotmail inbox.
