I also think it might imply that we are a "kids' collective", and that we are all kids and this is our radical collective! Maybe not, but I like the fact that it sounds like we're not just a group of adults and think it's something we should start putting into practice a bit more. I suppose realistically it would be very different asking for Molly's opinion on some issue from what we might get out of Kayden, but I do think we should think seriously about modelling some of the things that we mention in the fantastic group statement about involving kids in activism. Hmmm, just an idea but not very well thought through yet!</DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>The group discussed how the kids space went at climate camp.<SPAN> </SPAN>It was decided to prompt everyone who was there to write a short report of their feelings about it, then we can amalgamate this into a larger report/record to feed back into the next gathering, to help organising the space in the future. </SPAN></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>Here are a few of the conclusions we came to at the meeting.</SPAN></DIV>

<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>Saturday was the most amazing day of the kids space, it was packed out with longer term campers and many local families visiting for the day.<SPAN> </SPAN>There were lots of exciting workshops with good feedback, and even an on-site Rabbit!</SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>In General there was not enough support from the rest of the campers, despite constantly trying to rally for help.<SPAN> </SPAN>There was no mass day of action this year, which means there should have been ample amount of people on site at any one time to help with the space.<SPAN> </SPAN></SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>There was really good feedback from local residents of Blackheath.<SPAN> </SPAN>One parent stated she had brought her kids along to learn about Climate Change and they’d had a really good day. </SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>Despite a sign put up in the space, some parents used the space as a crèche and left children un attended.</SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>The ‘kids toilets’ were too far away from the kids space. </SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>There should have been early lunch provision for kids, as the lunch queues were incredibly long at all the kitchens.</SPAN></LI>
<LI class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>There was no legal briefing from the camp, with regards to last years camp, and it became apparent that incidents with the police, lack of support etc were reasons why last years kids space organisers did not get involved with the camp this year.</SPAN></LI></OL>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>This then rolled into a discussion about the name of our group, and the fact that the ‘Radical Childcare Collective’ was always intended as a temporary name.<SPAN> </SPAN></SPAN></DIV>

<P class=MsoNormal><SPAN lang=EN-GB>It was decided that it is quite important to drop or replace the word ‘childcare’ from this title, for two reasons. Firstly the word in itself is a debated term.<SPAN> </SPAN>And secondly it does not represent the umbrella of areas the group does, or may wish to be involved with in the future.<SPAN> </SPAN>We don’t ‘provide childcare’ and this may be suggested by retaining the word. </SPAN></DIV>
