<div><br></div><div>Hi</div><div><br></div>Once again, we're holding a May Day event in Shipley (Yorkshire UK) as part of a wider May Day bash in Bradford. <br><font color="#0056cd"><br></font>The event website for last year was <a href="http://www.ante-art.co.uk/" target="_blank">www.ante-art.co.uk</a> - this shows who got involved. I've put some links to reviews and other info about Ante 2012 at the end of this email. <div>
<br></div><div>As last year's event went really well, we are following the same format:</div><div><br></div><div>- exhibition of prints, photos, film, performances</div><div>- book/print fair</div><div>- cafe & bar</div>

<div><font color="#0056cd"><br></font>************<br>Ante takes the idea of art and scrapes off the dogma, the commercialism and the elitism. Ante explores and celebrates the use of art and print as an expression of free will and a megaphone for those whose collective voices struggle to be heard.<br>
<font color="#0056cd"><br></font>Ante is Shipley's May Day celebration, taking place at the Kirkgate Centre on the 4-5th May. Saturday starts with a small press, zine and print fair followed by a benefit gig. Sunday is an ante-Art factory - dress for mess and produce your own £25million masterpiece.<br>
<font color="#0056cd"><br></font>***********<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">Contributors are doing one or more of the following:</div><div class="gmail_quote"><br></div><div class="gmail_quote">• contributing to the content - images, letters, photographs, installations, film and live performance. Some are putting up something new, others are digging out something that expresses the sentiment of Ante.</div>
<div class="gmail_quote">• running a stall at the small press fair (small press, pamphlets, zines, posters, etc). Stalls should make a donation to help cover costs - about £5 would be helpful.</div><div class="gmail_quote">
• taking part in the ante-art factory if you have some techniques to share - last year included knitting, letterpress & screen printing</div><div class="gmail_quote">• things for younger people to do - last year kids were building camps, drawing, printing, being robots, etc</div>
<div class="gmail_quote">• helping at the event - volunteering to set-up, help with the cafe, help with the gig, etc</div><div class="gmail_quote"><br></div><div class="gmail_quote">Anyone contributing is also asked (but not obliged) to:</div>
<div class="gmail_quote"><br></div><div class="gmail_quote">• provide an image/text for the website (see our homepage)</div><div class="gmail_quote">• produce their own flyer/invitation</div><div class="gmail_quote">• provide something for the programme - as we have no money (we do however have a colour copier) we are sticking all the programme contributions into a paper bag and handing that out - that means contributors have no restriction in terms of words numbers, etc., or what they say/show but they do have to provide the artwork.</div>
