My daughter is depressed. She is depressed about the treatment of farm
animals, the state of the environment, the sense that people "don't care"
about any of it. She has vowed to never drive a car and wants to be an
organic farmer when she grows up.
What I need is someone or someones who agree with her and who *are doing
something*. I'd prefer my daughter not be arrested, but I am looking for
some dramatic steps here. Tree sitting? Volunteering somewhere? Just hanging
out and making subversive art and posting it? I really don't know - but she
needs to do SOMETHING.
My rules: I cannot adopt another living thing. I have very little money, so
we're not going to make large donations to anywhere. I am looking for
someone passionate and enthusiastic to work with her. I'm not, truth be
told, as radical as she is and she feels I don't "get it". She is right, I
suppose, so I am looking for someone who does!
So send me your ideas and we'll figure out some sort of trade. I have some
money, I have veggies, my family has a PA system and a pickup truck, who
knows what else? I may be able to get you mushroom identification mentoring
or firewood or firearm training? Photographic documentation of your event?
The satisfaction of helping to bring about a young activist?
I need your ideas. Really. Thanks!
