April 23rd is Earth Day at the Museum of the Earth and
Cayuga Nature Center!
Featuring the Museum's Annual Dino Eggstravaganza and
Butterfly House seed planting at Cayuga Nature Center

Special joint admission price all week April 18-24th

Celebrate Earth Day with The Museum of the Earth at the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI), and Cayuga Nature Center (CNC) with their first annual joint Earth Day program April 23, 2011. PRI will feature their annual Dino Eggstravaganza with an egg hunt from 11am-1pm and family fun and crafts from 11am-3pm. At CNC help feed butterflies this summer by planting seeds for their butterfly house from 12noon-4pm. As an Earth Day special, PRI and CNC will offer a special dual admission price of $10 adults, $6 students/seniors and $3 youth.to both organizations for the entire week of April 18-April 24th.

This year the Museum will combine Earth Day with its ever popular Dino Eggstravaganza, the Museum's annual egg hunt held inside the Museum. The event will consist of an all-out search for eggs throughout the Museum (including a special area for the younger toddlers), Egg and Earth Day centered activity tables and a specimen touch table with fun egg specimens for visitors to explore. The kids will have an opportunity to take part in a number of great take-home craft activities using biodegradable materials. Make an eggshell planter, or an eggshell mosaic. Do some Egg-speriments and learn why heavy mama dinosaurs didn't crush their eggs in the nest. Perform an Egg-excavation and handle real dinosaur eggs and compare them to the eggs of living animals

At CNC plant some seeds that will feed the butterflies in the butterfly house later on in the season, walk the trails and watch the animal feeding at 12noon.
