Hello,

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate use of this list serve, but I figure
it couldn't hurt to try. I have a bit of a favor to ask from the community,
and I would be eternally grateful if you considered helping me.

In just a couple of weeks I will be riding in RAGBRAI, a huge annual
week-long group bike ride across the state of Iowa (http://ragbrai.com). I
am riding with a group of 6 other volunteers and friends from Sadhana
Forest, a completely volunteer-run, solar powered, vegan international
non-profit community located in India (with a newer sister community in
Haiti). Sadhana's mission is environmental restoration through afforestation
and water conservation, low-impact living, and human cooperation. I did a
short term study abroad program there in the winter of 2010 and it made a
lasting impression on me. Simply put, the three weeks I spent there changed
my entire life and worldview. To learn more about this community, check out

Unfortunately, this year Sadhana's main supporters lost their funding, and
because it exists entirely on donations of generous individuals, in order to
continue existing and doing the amazing work it does, it needs your help.
The aim of our RAGBRAI tour is to raise awareness of both Sadhana Forest
Haiti and India as well as to gain financial support for the coming year.

This is where you can help. Please consider sponsoring me on this ride. A
little goes a long way and will really, really make a difference. In return,
I would like to offer any help with odd jobs you could use, or services I
might be able to provide. That could include photography projects, physical
labor (weeding a garden, painting a house, mowing lawns, etc.), running
errands, pet sitting/walking, house sitting, house cleaning, etc. I'm open
to other ideas, just let me know if you think I could help with something
(keeping in mind that I do work full time).
