Brooktondale's swimming holes? The Six Mile Creek nature preserve?
paintings? old postcards? history? stories?
A Year in the Life of Six Mile Creek - a campus/community initiative
inviting watershed stewardship through the arts - will launch on Friday,
July 1st with a gala reception and music on the downtown Creek Walk - plus
a slide show/display in the Library's Borg Warner Room. If you have have
anything you're willing to share, contact Patricia Haines <
levelgreen2010 at gmail.com> (607) 339-9472
Co-sponsors of the project include the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network, the
Center for Environmental Sustainability and a growing coalition - the Creek
Coalition - of City, County, school, environmental, arts and community
groups; business and other sponsors; and artists (photographers, painters,
musicians, dancers, sculptors, film artists, poets...).
The basic goal is to encourage citizen action to protect the water that
connects - and sustains - us by inviting folks of all ages to document - and
come together to celebrate - life in, under and around Six Mile Creek
through a full round of seasons.
Everyone is welcome to join in - we'd love your ideas on Creekside
activities for all ages throughout the seasons. Would love to hear from you
