Dear all,
We have the great pleasure to announce* the publication of the synthesis of
the international meeting "Building the movement */ Practionners of
community and complementary currencies (CCC)" held in Lyon (France) in
February 2011 and attended by over 250 researchers and practionners/project
leaders around CCC initiatives.
Download it here<http://banquepalmas.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8e657cfc193f8fdc34f4c6caa&id=5d847aa8dd&e=428da91d40>
.
The document (unfortunately only available *in french* for the moment),
comprehensive, contains the 12 "inaugural" presentations of the
international experiences that opened the proceedings, but also
contributions from initiatives missing during the meeting (mainly Latin
American and French experiences, briefs on some ranges of local currencies
operating in the territories).
You will also find *a synthesis of the academic conference "30 years of
complementary currencies, and after ?"* that preceded the meeting and
written by Jerome Blanc, Laboratory Triangle University Lyon-2 and the list
of participants.
This publication is intended to leave a lasting impression of this first
International Week of social and complementary currencies, coupled with the
launch of a website "Currencies In Debate" : *http://www.monnaiesendebat.org
*<http://banquepalmas.us4.list-manage2.com/track/click?u=8e657cfc193f8fdc34f4c6caa&id=f056e27fb6&e=428da91d40>
.
*The site is an evolutionary space devoted to news, promotion and support
of CCC actors and their initiatives*, in line with what has facilitated the
organization of the meeting in Lyon.
Its content will be extended in the coming weeks (and an english version of
some pages and documents will be soon available).
There you can already get (in french) :
- *an illustrated typology *of community currencies,
- *various informative documents* (briefs on experiences mostly),
- *a topic "In debate"* with some of the necessary interrogations and
discussions in the field,
- and *awareness tools *(special folders magazines, videos made by SCOP La
Peniche and photographic panorama of practitionners by the association
Fokus21) created under creative commons license which can be used in your
networks to inform and communicate about the theme.
*A YouTube channel also includes all of these videos* :
http://www.youtube.com/user/Monnaiesendebat?feature=watch<http://banquepalmas.us4.list-manage.com/track/click?u=8e657cfc193f8fdc34f4c6caa&id=f094324348&e=428da91d40>
You will find there mainly interviews in english, french and spanish (but
not subtitled yet) from experiences like the CES (South Africa), Brixton
Pound (UK), Nu-Spaarpas (Netherlands), Regiogeld (Germany), Talent
(Austria), Barter Clubs (Venezuela), C3 (Brasil/Uruguay), Accorderie
(Quebec/Canada), LETS (France), local complementary currencies (France).
Also some interviews with economists/activists and researchers like Jérome
Blanc (CC panorama), Jean-Michel Servet (microcredit and CCs), Hugo
Godschalk (demurrage), Matthew Slater and Tim Anderson (Community Forge -
CCMag).
We wish you a great moment with this "synthesis" and a rewarding
consultation of the "Currencies In Debate" website.
Please do not hesitate to *send us some updates on your initiatives and all
the documents you think interesting to promote your complementary currency
scheme/experience/project.*
We are trying to organize a new event for 2013 and possibly a "lighter
preparatory meeting" before, in october 2012 in Brasil.
Stay tuned !
Regards,
*Carlos de Freitas*
