> Volunteers are needed for the 18th annual celebration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year's festivities will include a guest speaker, performances by area choirs and a luncheon, free to the public, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the Beverly J. Martin School gymnasium, 302 W. Buffalo St., Ithaca, NY. On average, 350-400 people attend this event, mainly families with school aged children. The event relies heavily upon donations both in-kind and monetary as well as volunteers to truly provide a day of celebration to the community.
>
> The day is organized by the Greater Ithaca Activities Center; the Multicultural Resource Center; the Center for Transformative Action; the Cornell Public Service Center; the GreenStar Cooperative Market, Ithaca College's Office of Multicultural Affairs, Campus Life at Cornell University; Ithaca College's Center for Student Leadership and Involvement; and Cornell Cooperative Extension of TC and community members.
