THANKS FOR PASSING THIS ALONG:
Plans are coming together for a remarkable weekend September 21-23 - it
will be hard to choose!
Earthdance, the Food Justice Summit, Latin Roots Festival and Streets
Alive! are joining forces to offer the first
what-we-hope-will-be-annual *Comm'Unity
Weekend*: four events with similar missions - offering music, dancing and
food that can bridge all boundaries and nurture sustainable community for
all ages.
We're working on arrangements for a SHUTTLE so that folks can join in all
of Saturday's celebrations. And we're collaborating on a COMM'UNITY WEEKEND
Program Guide with stories and schedules for Saturday and Sunday combined.
As for EARTHDANCE - I can't attach our colorful flyer but the press release
below gives most of the details. In addition to featuring wonderful Dorothy
Cotton as our Opening Ceremony keynote speaker, ticket sale proceeds
benefit the Dorothy Cotton Institute, which carries on Dorothy's legacy and
promotes local and global Beloved Community through education and advocacy.
To make sure no one is turned away because of ticket price, Earthdance is
providing discount tickets for folks attending Saturday's Food Justice
Summit and Latin Roots Festival, available at the events. FREE ADMISSION
is available for much-needed individual and family volunters. To explore
possibilities, contact earthdanceithacavols at gmail.com.
If you have other plans for the 22nd, I hope you'll pause at 7 pm to add
your voice to millions of other around the globe saying the Peace Prayer
below with friends and family. It's easy to be part of the global moment,
wherever you are.
Question, suggestions - still looking for food vendors!
