Eh, I don't think this is such a great idea.  This is the model the
software industry has forced us into, and as far as I can tell this just
results in us paying over and over to keep using a product that becomes
obsolete without getting any better.  Now Amazon has a patent on the same
model, where they can "resell" you a "used" ebook - which is of course just
the original ebook except that the author doesn't get paid for it.
The focus needs to be on relocalization and working with resources
(materials, energy, labor) that stay within our community.
