Thanks so much for helping out!  Essentially I got in to SCT to study with
my favourite philosopher in the whole wide world and since it goes for 6
weeks, I need to drag the reluctant family with me.  The desire to study
with this philospher overtook any practical considerations and I'm not
getting any institutional support (I think my university, if not my entire
nation banned critical theory some time ago!) and Ithaca is SOOOOOO
expensive in summer.  We live on a 5 acre semi-sustainable farm in
Australia and to try to get my partner enthused about the trip, I thought
it would be good for him and the kids to do some wwoofing whilst I am at
SCT.  He'd go crazy not doing something outdoorsy for 6 weeks.  So, I am at
SCT 14 June-24 July and our accommodation or car hire (but would rather not
have a car) budget is really max $2500 (well...currently 0 but hoping to
find this by then!) for the 6 weeks.  Joined wwoof usa but all the official
wwoofing opportunities are full.  I've had a couple of leads for places to
stay in the Ecovillage but haven't heard back.  Ideally we'd stay somewhere
that is:
1) cheap!
2) where my partner can contribute some outdoor work
3) where there are some kids around
Totally happy for you to post on any relevant sites.  We are essentially a
family that needs to be put to use and meet like-minded folk!  Warm regards,
