I'm passing along this e-mail to those who want to cut down on their junk
mail.  I've used catalog choice for more than a decade, encompassing an
international and a couple domestic moves.  Consequently, the only junk
mail I receive are local to the Finger Lakes area -- small businesses (car
dealerships, etc.) whose addresses are not on the database.  So, we're
talking one piece of junk mail a month.

THe initial labor-intensive business of collecting your junk mail and then
inputting their addresses, and your desires, into the database, is well
worth the freedom from wasteful, obnoxious, and intrusive mailings.

Equifax, who operated Catalog Choice the past two years, to transfer the
platform back to non-profit status.

Over the past seven years, Catalog Choice has helped millions of people
reduce junk mail and simplify their lives. Today, I’m excited to announce
that Catalog Choice will now be supported by the non-profit The Story of
Stuff Project!

You may have heard of The Story of Stuff Project or seen our movies. Our
mission is to change the way we think about, use, and throw away Stuff.
Millions of unwanted catalogs are thrown away every year - that’s a lot of
paper! We’d like to change that.

This acquisition will allow Catalog Choice to go back to its roots as a
non-profit organization. Our team at The Story of Stuff Project has been
working with Equifax, who operated Catalog Choice the past two years, to
transfer the platform back to non-profit status.

We’re thrilled to be supporting Catalog Choice, and will be working
tirelessly to improve the platform and help you stop junk mail for good!
