An<br>expert on the environmental causes of cancer and reproductive problems,<br>Steingraber is herself a cancer survivor. She’s been named a “Woman of<br>the Year” by Ms. Magazine and “the new Rachel Carson” by the Sierra<br>Club.A documentary film based on “Living Downstream” will be<br>released this spring.<br><br>She is a powerful speaker with a gripping personal story<br>and deep insights about journalism. She is a columnist for the ad-free Orion<br>magazine.<br><br>Steingraber’s book Having Faith: An Ecologist’s Journey to<br>Motherhood is a memoir of her pregnancy and an examination of environmental<br>threats to fetal development.
