[Although I didn't apply with T-W, I did with one of the smaller companies who uses T-W's infrastructure -- and T-W in order to install, insisted on the SSN, otherwise no deal. Perhaps they do that to get people to turn to them in desperation, no idea.]<br><br>Anyhoo, the two alternatives I received from individual responders in this group were LightLink and ClarityConnect. It took six weeks for the latter one to come and do a site survey where I live in City of Ithaca, but it was worth the wait. For broadband, I'm only
paying 29.95 a month, no contract -- plus installation fee (and unlike T-W, and maybe verizon, there really was something to install, as opposed to just flicking a switch or something), and they didn't ask for my SSN.<br><br>It was hard not to have internet at home for six weeks, but such a good feeling not having to deal with corporate monopolistic bullies...<br><br>Anyway, for what it's worth...<br><br>Liza<br></div>
