Come out to Three Swallows Farm from 10-1 to learn about the Ithaca Youth Farming Project and help some young Ithacans prepare the land for spring. Event details are below. All ages are welcome. Hope you all had a great winter and will join us for our<span class="text_exposed_hide">...</span><span class="text_exposed_show"> Spring Equinox Crop Mob!!!!<br> <br>WHERE: Youth Farming Project at Three Swallows Farm<br>WHEN: Sunday, March 20th, 10-1 pm<br>WHAT: Spring cleaning!<br>WHO: Everyone and anyone<br>FARMERS: Young Ithacans from the South Side Community Center, Lehman Alternative Community School, and the Ithaca Waldorf School!<br><br>We will be celebrating the coming of spring by helping some of Ithaca's youngest farmers mulch (and possibly plant) garlic, pull up last year's drip tape, fix fencing and more. Start spring off right by doing some spring cleaning on a farm!<br><br>What to bring:<br>People of all ages are welcome, but please leave dogs at home. Parents are responsible for supervising their children.<br>Please dress for the weather, ie. mud!<br>Please bring full water bottles.<br> Feel free to bring a digital camera to take pictures if you like.<br>We'll eat hot soup and cider and talk about this exciting project after the work session. <br><br>How to sign up:<br>If you know for sure you'd like to come, please RSVP to <a href="mailto:ithacacropmob@gmail.com">ithacacropmob@gmail.com</a>. Go past Ithaca College. Nelson Rd. is a left turn, just past Comfort Rd. and the Oasis Dance Club on the right. About 4.2 miles from Viva. The farm is the first barn on your right. Park in the lot on the left and walk across the street. <br><br>More about the farm:<br>The Youth Farming Project is a collaboration between many community organizations, including the Full Plate Farm Collective, the Ithaca Waldorf School, LACS and South Side Community Center. It is beginning it's second year. Three Swallows Farm is an organic, biodynamic vegetable farm, with a CSA U pick garden and crops for local schools and more. The food the Youth Farm produces benefits the LACS, Beverly J. Martin Elementary's Snack Program, Congo Square Market and the Full Plate's U-pick operations.
