Our first crop mob was at the Good Life Farm in April 2010; our group of 60 mobbers planted literally HUNDREDS of apple trees. Now we're going back to do it again!<br><br>WHERE: The Good Life Farm, 4017 Hickok Rd., Interlaken NY 14847<br>WHEN: Saturday, April 9th<br> Full Day Mob! Come when you can, stay as long as you like!<br> 9 am-1 pm - morning session<br> 1-2 pm - lunch (all are welcome! They make a good lunch up at The Good Life Farm...)<br> 2- 4 pm - afternoon session<br> Please RSVP for a half day- morning or afternoon- or full day.<br> WHAT: Planting trees!<br>WHO: Mobbers of all ages<br>FARMERS: Garrett Miller and Melissa Madden<br><br>Melissa and Garrett farm off the grid using draft horses. Last season they hosted our very first mob and we planted organic apple trees with them. They are planting more trees this season, and have other spring farm tasks as well (last year there was a short intensive on laying drip irrigation too). <br> <br>Both farmers are excellent educators as well as conscientious farmers. Pretty cool that we can learn from them while planting an orchard that will be around, producing fruit, for many years to come. <br><br>What to bring:<br> Please wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, hat, and sunscreen.<br>Please bring full water bottles for yourselves.<br>Wear gloves if you have them.<br>If you have a digging spade/shovel, bring that along too.<br> Kids are welcome, supervised by their parents.<br>Please leave your pets at home.<br><br>How to sign up:<br>If you know for sure you'd like to come, please RSVP to <a href="mailto:ithacacropmob@gmail.com" target="_blank">ithacacropmob@gmail.com</a>. We are most of the north side of Hickok Rd. with the big red barn, horses, high<br>tunnels. We'd like folks to park on the road. Some things to watch for so as not to miss Hickok Rd.: 1 mile before us, on the right is<br> the Cayuga Port-a-Johns depot- lots of portapotties in the field. 1 mile past us is the Cayuga Creamery Ice Cream shop- too far!" - Melissa<br><br>About the farm:<br>Located on the fertile hillsides of Cayuga Lake in Seneca County, New York, our 69 acre farm is based on our desire to live a good life that comes from hard work, a healthy landscape and a vibrant community.<br> In these first, young years at The Good Life, we focus on season extension and perennial fruits and vegetables while gradually integrating animals.
