Now we're going to help transplant some young blueberry bushes into their permanent homes.<br><br>WHERE: Kestrel Perch Berry Farm: 220 Rachel Carson Way, Ithaca, NY 14850<br> WHEN: April 30th, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., followed by lunch<br>WHAT: Transplanting blueberry bushes!<br>WHO: Mobbers of all ages<br>FARMER: Katie Creeger<br><br>Kestrel Perch is an organic berry farm located at EcoVillage. Farmer Katie Creeger grows strawberries, summer and fall raspberries, red and black currants, blackberries and gooseberries, and now, blueberries. Most of her berries go to her U-pick berry CSA, and she does some open U-pick as well. Her farm is immaculately pruned and tended (she might not say so, being a sharp-eyed perfectionist, but it sure looks good to us!).<br> <br><b>What to bring:</b><br>Please wear closed toed shoes, weather appropriate clothing, hat, and sunscreen.<br>Please bring full water bottles for yourselves.<br>Wear gloves if you have them.<br>If you have a digging spade/shovel, bring that along too. (Extras to share are always welcome too - label with a piece of tape, a colored ribbon, etc.). <br> Bring a place setting (plate, bowl, cup, fork, spoon, napkin) for the meal.<br>Kids are welcome, supervised by their parents.<br>Please leave your pets at home.<br><br><b>How to sign up:</b><br>If you know for sure you'd like to come, please RSVP to <a href="mailto:ithacacropmob@gmail.com" target="_blank">ithacacropmob@gmail.com</a>. Take Hector St./Rt.79w out of Ithaca. Go about 2 miles and turn left onto Rachel Carson Way. The berry farm is fenced in on your left, park along the road. If you get to the housing community on Rachel Carson Way, you've gone too far. <br> <br><b>About the farm:</b><br>Kestrel Perch Berries, a unique combination of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and U-Pick models, supplies seasonal small fruit to members in the greater Ithaca, NY area. Kestrel Perch Berry Farm is also incorporating a "pay-as-you-go" payment option.
