Tompkins County will host the <u>17th Annual Compost Fair & Plant Swap</u> on <u>Sunday, May1st, 2011
from 12pm - 4pm</u>.<br>The Compost Fair is being held in conjunction with
the 4-H Duck Race, which takes place from 10am - 4pm at the same
location.<br><br>Compost Fair attendees will learn how to turn food and garden
waste into usable and nutrient-filled material. Activity stations will provide
hands-on experience and lots of information on the what can be composted, types
of bins to use, how to build a bin and when to turn a compost pile. <br>Hands-on activities, food, plant swap, and live music promise fun for the whole family!<br><br>Community
partners joining the Fair are: Share
Tompkins, Sew Green, Tompkins County Solid Waste, Finger Lakes ReUse, Cayuga Compost,
Finger Lakes Permaculture, New Roots, Historic Ithaca, GreenStar, Master Gardeners, Jillian's Drawers, Cornell Sustainability, Ithaca Agway, Gardens4Humanity and CCETC 4-H.<br>
