The two story red barn still remains. There are several old buildings from the 1920’s which we are finding several uses for. When we purchased the farm in 2005 there were 20 fruit trees, several unkempt flower gardens, plenty of weeds and a spring fed pond. Two years ago we planted asparagus, then in 2010 we planted an additional 25 fruit trees . We have also revived and expanded the perennial gardens.

The farm project began in the spring of 2010 with 4 families combining our energies, enthusiasm and knowledge to produce wholesome organic food. We started by building a 30 x 30 fenced in garden, and a 20 x 25 foot unfenced area. The season went better than accepted and we produced enough vegetables to try our hand at canning and freezing. Our group spends time planning, working , sharing meals and recipes throughout the year.

In 2011 our plan is to double the garden space and construct a 24’ x 48’ high tunnel to extend and lengthen our growing season. We like to think of our project as an ASC: agriculture supported community!

Directions from Ithaca:

3190 County Rt. 6 Cayutaville 607 594-6742

Option 1:

Rt 79 West out of Ithaca.
