Thanks, Pat<br><br><p>Plantcycle, started in November 2010, is an Ithaca, New York, community-based, grassroots group whose mission is to share plants, seeds, tools, advice, servics and ideas. It’s free to join. We’d like to thank Freecycle, upon which Plantcycle is based.</p><p>Joining is simple: just go to the <strong><a href="http://plantcycle.net/mailman/listinfo/share_plantcycle.net" target="_blank">signup page</a></strong> and subscribe to the Plantcycle email list. Then, you will receive by email all the offers and requests that other Plantcycle members have sent out. When you have a need or something to offer to others, just send an email message to “<a href="mailto:share@plantcycle.net">share@plantcycle.net</a>” and all the other subscribers will receive the message. We’ll see how it goes; if there are a lot of messages daily, we can each switch to “digest mode” and get all of the day’s offers and requests delivered in one message. (You can set up digest mode by going to the <a href="http://plantcycle.net/mailman/listinfo/share_plantcycle.net" target="_blank"><strong>signup page</strong></a> and log in at the bottom of the page.</p><p>Plantcycle was not designed to host commercial transactions, and while we’d like to keep the exchange of plants, seeds, tools, etc. cost-free, we also understand that there might be <strong>minimal costs</strong> associated with some transactions that would greatly benefit members. For instance, if someone wants to rent rototiller for a week and needs to share costs, such a posting is within the mission. If someone wishes to bulk order seed or plants, or has information on very low cost items, or incredible sales, again, such postings are within the mission. Even if someone wants to trade labor for plants or food, this is within the mission of sharing community resources.
