This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.</font></p><p><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="5">New York state has newly <a title="Links to NY Times article: Citing Health Risks, Cuomo Bans Fracking in New York State" href="http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/18/nyregion/cuomo-to-ban-fracking-in-new-york-state-citing-health-risks.html?_r=0" target="_blank">banned fracking</a> due to its <a title="Link to Concerned Health Professionals of NY webpage with downloadable copy of: Updated Compendium of Risks and Harms Of Fracking (Unconventional Gas And Oil)" href="http://concernedhealthny.org/compendium/" target="_blank">known hazards and risks.</a>
But New Yorkers are still at risk from hazardous gas facilities and
pipelines, pollution, food chain contamination and other problems of the
fracking boom.</font></p><p><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="5">Ithaca-based non-profit, <a title="The Bioscience Resource Project home page" href="http://www.bioscienceresource.org/">The Bioscience Resource Project</a>, is hosting <em>Beyond the Ban: Fracking, Health & Infrastructure in New York State from Port Ambrose to Seneca Lake. </em><span style="color: #333333;">Sandra Steingraber, Michelle Bamberger and Robert Oswald </span>will provide an overview of post-ban fracking threats to New York state.</font></p><p><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="5"><strong>More about this Event:</strong> </font></p><p><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="5">The DEC promises to prohibit
high volume hydraulic fracturing—a courageous act by Governor Cuomo—but
what of the risks faced by many New Yorkers from pipelines, compressor
stations, gas storage caverns and export terminals? If this
infrastructure rapidly expands across our state, what are the potential
impacts to people, animals and the food shed, and what is the current
status of each project? </font></p><p><font class="Apple-style-span" face="Cambria" size="5">Hosted by the Bioscience Resource Project– <a href="http://steingraber.com/">Sandra Steingraber</a> (author of “Raising Elijah” and “<a href="http://www.livingdownstream.com/">Living Downstream</a>”,
