Allison “Alli” Sribarra has been using alternate forms of transportation for most of her adult life. When she and her husband moved from a neighborhood in Maryland with easily accessible public transportation to Ithaca, Alli immediately found a carpool to work through <a href="http://getyourgreenbacktompkins.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=7b633c9d0c01dcfb62a882694&id=edaee93f61&e=1a2200f299" target="_blank" style="word-wrap: break-word; color: rgb(109, 198, 221); font-weight: normal; text-decoration: underline; ">Zimride</a>. Six months later, they moved to Danby and finding a carpool proved challenging. However, she found a bus route that was only a short walk away, and has been using that to commute to work ever since.</span></span><br><br><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: arial; font-size: 14.6666666666667px; line-height: 1.38; white-space: pre-wrap; ">Alli takes the bus four days a week, and on most days she brings her children—a two-year-old and a five-month-old—with her. On bringing her children on the bus with her, Alli says, “It’s not as hard as you might think it is, because TCAT and other people are just really, really helpful…the other people on the bus are always trying to help me juggle strollers.” </span><br><br><span style="background-color: transparent; font-family: arial; font-size: 14.6666666666667px; line-height: 1.38; white-space: pre-wrap; ">Taking the bus to and from work allows the Sribarras to remain a one-car family, which, according to AAA, helps them save thousands of dollars every year, and reduces their carbon pollution significantly.
