Martin Elementary School on Mondays between 8am-10am. Times are flexible within a half-hour; we generally need help for a two hour weekly shift. If you are interested in helping but cannot commit to a weekly shift, we can use help as a sub occasionally on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays.</div><div><br></div><div>Volunteers are supervised by our friendly and reliable Snack Coordinator, Jeremy Betterley in the back kitchen of BJM. You will be preparing free, raw healthy snacks for the entire school using fresh produce with a focus on local and organic. You may also help children and staff who come to pick up the snack, at which time you can tell them what we are serving that day and represent the snack positively. </div><div><br></div><div>This program has been running for over five years, and is very appreciated at the school. You will be a food justice hero! Our volunteers consistently report finding the food prep to be both a fun and relaxing way to start their day.</div><div><br></div><div>The Fresh Snack Program is run by Wood's Earth and provides a free serving of fresh fruit and vegetable snack to all students every school day in the classrooms at BJM between meals. They also work with the Ithaca City School District's Central Kitchen to provide healthy produce-based snacks to Enfield and Belle Sherman schools on Wednesdays and Fridays.
