          To Mr Nzegwi

 

 

Having woke up I understand how people who struggle to help others 

Be Carers is such a struggle sometimes 

They often blame themselves first when things go wrong

Always looking for an answer in a failing of their understanding

Always only humbly accepting

Rather than rushing to exuberant celebration

 

Their concerns lie always with the best for those around them

Which is a concept some find difficult to comprehend

They always check first that scripture or the echo has returned 

Before criticising

 

They always put any new idea to their children before demanding that everyone else understand and implement it .

They do not rely on false hopes or promises made by any man

Nor do they base their actions on a pattern of words 

 

All that they do is surrender to the will of the Divine

Sometimes ending up doing what they themselves would rather not be doing

Spending time amongst people they have judged 

Spending time amonst people they have helped 

 

Finding they have something to share

The understanding of comparisons

The acceptance of a rainbow

That life will persist despite all and any effort to defy that

The futility of vanity

The gentleness of each moment 

 

Philosophers may struggle to carve a sign

Scientist will never reach back into passed time

Doctors can only offer a tincture of Lime

Those with serenity know the sublime
