Hi there,

It' looks like i should be back in the uk in time for
the Sheffield imc working weekend on the 23-5th
September

http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/UkNetworkSheffieldWeekend

So I've put the Screenings resource on the agenda

http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/UkNetworkSheffieldWeekend

Part of the deal is getting the content out there in
Media RSS format. This is a format that a lot of
Bloggers are using. We should get uk indymedia stuff
out there like this too.
So I'll ccin tech list. and the soma-dev group too, as
this next bit is very relavant.

If anyone is interested there are crazy advances in
Video Blogging out there. You can create your own
Media Rss feed with pretty easy to use tools. All
quite innane but it gets people into using the tools.

Check out - www.freevlog.org for some crazy video
tutorials. Worth a look as it is very funny!

And I'm now a vlogger [ahem only for research purposes
you understand]
http://mickinmanchester.blogspot.com

Or if you want my latest emmissions straight
downloaded to you. You use Fireant Video Feed browser
thing
http://antisnottv.net

And add the channel address
http://feeds.feedburner.com/mickfuzz/

This is a Media RSS channel that the blogspot service
creates and a service called feedburner ratifies or it
does something to it anyway.

Anyway it all conbines to make it pretty easy to
download video.
Do try out the Fire ant thing if you are on windows or
mac it's pretty impressive.

The screenings database we are working on for
imc-uk-video is going to be based on the ourvideocms
codebase.

http://ourvideocms.sourceforge.net
and it should simplify the process a bit but the aim
is the same - a video cms - focusing on screenings
quality video - which outputs Media RSS feeds.

Another thought...

I don't know if people have read the Evolving imc wiki
post
http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Local/EvolvingImcUk

But it seems to make sense to take on the implications
that blogs and the variety of Rss feeds of varying
focus and analysis pose for us.

We could try to become some kind of really on the case
Feed agregator, taking the news feeds from on the case
independent news, community and campaign groups -
showing them blogging technology and giving them a
system to plug into so that their info goes beyond
simply their blog.

This is already the model we have been looking at at
beyondtv.org and ourvideo.org.
