[SSC] participating remotely

Unfortunately, I think this will be difficult. As far as I know, there's not a working Internet connection in the building. I have seen some server equipment, so can ask about its use, but it might be something we have to work towards. I usually use my phone to tether my laptop if I need to use it in the Mint Lane building.

I'll ask Andrew, who manages the building about this.

If so, people who are not able to attend can phone in and listen to the proceedings - and perhaps add a comment at the end of each section. The phone-in people can't be active participants but they can follow what is going on and for many this is a nicer option than reading minutes after an event. I've done this before - experiments in sustainable meeting - and it has worked well.

>> I just thought you would be interested to know that since we opened up the SSC to formal membership enrolment, we now have 26 confirmed members, 18 of whom are 'Academic members' and eight Associate Academic members.
>>
>> If you have enrolled as a member and wish to be listed on the website http://socialsciencecentre.org.uk/members/ please send a short biographical statement to info at socialsciencecentre.org.uk
>>
>> See you on the 10th September for our next meeting. Location/time to be confirmed, but expect a one day meeting in central Lincoln. As it's on a Saturday, I don't think Mint Lane will be available to us but there are other similar venues we will investigate.
