[SSC] Today ( 21st April)

Dear All,
For those of you who couldn't make it today, the general consensus was that the Open event was a great success.
There were between 30-40 people there, from a wide variety of backgrounds: parents with children doing A levels, mature women who had left school at 16 but wanted to get back into HE, smart young  men doing MAs at Goldsmiths, secondary school teachers and on and on...
We will be writing a full report as well as producing a short video, so keep an eye on the website.
I very much hope that we can all get together soon.
Thank you for your support. Even though  you were not there today we feel supported by your presence.

I absolutely agree! We set up the radio last night and listened first thing. Incredibly cogent, Richard! Well done!

Hello all,
I wouldn't mind doing this on Saturday, of course. But Sarah was also
contacted by the BBC and in correspondence with her we agreed it might
be best if we asked them to wait until Monday. We could discuss our

overall media strategy on Saturday - and respond accordingly on Monday.
What do you think of that approach?

Hi All, 

A number of us have been approached by BBC Lincolnshire to do an
interview on Saturday morning before the Open event.

It has been suggested by members of the group that Richard Keeble take

this on. I would agree with this.

It does raise the issue once more that we need to have a co-ordinated
way to deal with these requests and how to speak as a group to the
media, if possible.

But hey, we are learning -  and it is fun.

I'm preparing signs for Saturday and am making up some of quotations

from beloved authors and/or current debates that we could consider
hanging around.
