[SSC] Secretary and Web roles

Dear SSC members,

I want to let you know that I've decided to leave the SSC. After two years, I just don't have the energy for it any more and want to concentrate on my work and family. When I first started work on the SSC, there was a lot of cross-over with my day-job but that is not really the case any more and I've been increasingly feeling split between responsibilities.

I'm sure this won't have much impact on the SSC. We set up the SSC as a non-hierarchical co-operative and the founding members always intended that this model would spread the responsibility of SSC governance across its membership. Today, there are 78 members of the SSC and 126 people subscribed to this list, so I'm reassured that there is growing interest in contributing to the success of the SSC.

Stephen has recently taken over as Treasurer (thanks again!), but I still need to hand over my responsibilities as SSC secretary and 'web master'. If you're interested in doing this please do let me know. Both roles have a lot of cross over and are managed via email, Google Docs and WordPress and I'll make sure you understand how it all works. I think the Secretary role should be taken on by someone who can regularly attend meetings in Lincoln. On the other hand, the web master role can probably be done by any member, anywhere in the world.

Thank you and best wishes to the SSC,
Joss
