[SSC] Myself

Hi Chris,

Am I right to assume that you're thinking of studying at the equivalent of
undergraduate level? If so, the idea at the moment is that we will start
with a relatively wide-ranging 'Introduction to the Social Sciences' course,
bringing in the specialisms of a number of 'teacher scholar' members.

Beyond that, we have developed a long of list subjects (in Google Docs) in
which 'teacher scholar' members have expertise. It's an eclectic and
intellectually stimulating list so far. Unfortunately I can't make the link
to it work, otherwise I would post it for you.

We have had some debate as to the nature of the curriculum, and the extent
to which we replicate existing university course models. The debate is
appropriately on-going and open to all members. What there seems to be some
agreement on is a negotiated curriculum, with the expertise of teacher
scholars providing a starting point from which we develop.

Edwin

Hi fellow members,

My name is Chris, I am new here and I want to find out more about possible
courses I could attend.

Not being an academic it would be quite a learning curve. If I can find a
subject that sparks my interest

I would be interested to learn. Anyone else in the same boat?

Unfortunately I cannot see any of you at the May AGM meeting as I we have a
Holiday booked..

Best of Luck to you all and perhaps I can meet any fellow members who might
wish to do so or contact by email...........Chris Morley.
