Hi, Sarah, Jonathan, everyone,

The form that people used to tell us what they wanted to learn collected names and contact information, too, so I don't want to share it online. I brought a summary of it to the AGM and will do so for the next meeting in June.

Below is a copy and paste of what people have written. If you are reading this and would like to add to the form, it's here:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dEdlN2U4MHV3eHFKWnF1dDUwaDdzOEE6MQ

Psycology - Human behaviour	Religion and belief systems
Social Justice and International Educational Development; Social Science;
"Politics. i don't know what a standard ""politics"" university course looks like, or whether it links with the areas that interest me . . .
which are
a] how our democratic system is supposed to work, [fair distribution of power and resources etc]
b] how it actually works, or doesn't - [abuse of resources and information that work against the common good]
c] how is it that with the abundant resources and infrastructure available, the distribution of wealth is so lop-sided and so many people suffer and are disenfranchised - health, education, employment, housing etc
d] . . . . and is it possible to devise a self regulating system that minimises opportunities for abuse with the least amount of constriction on creative energy and flexibility"	"Philosophy.
again i don't know what a standard ""philosophy"" course would look like.
what interests me is how one applies philosophical ideas so that, through an improved understanding of ourselves, they improve the quality of our lives.
I'm also quite interested in how we come to be religious and how it has been misused for the purposes of control
"	"Economics
again i don't know what a standard ""economics"" course looks like, but i am interested in looking at basic economic processes as well as the almost religious ""blind faith"" aspects where economists can can profess certainties about economics which fly in the face of experience and prove disastrous.
"	"Education
this is my main academic passion and area of expertise, and i think i may have something to offer in a teaching capacity, but i'd rather hope that i would learn something new along the way. I'll be more specific on the other form - the teaching scholar form."
Psychology (esp. social psychology, political psychology, psychology of education, psychology of peace & conflict resolution)
"Journalism
"	"Psychology
"	Advertising & Psychology
Sociology
Law. My proposal relates to the possibility of removing the right of parental consent with regards to psychological testing. More specifically where a school considers the child's educational welfare to be neglected by the refusal to do so. i.e. a school considers a child to have autism/ADHD/PDA/Dyslexia/moderate learning difficulties etc and by not having a diagnosis it precludes the child from certain provisions which would allow them differentiated access to a curriculum and overall causes harm to the child's educational rights.
Politics and sociology
Education and how it is defined in society.

I know there's a spreadsheet with the interests of Teacher-Scholars expressed on it, but I thought I remembered seeing a spreadsheet or list of study interests as expressed by potential student-scholars themselves. Do we/you have such a thing? I'd be really interested to see it if we do.
