Co-operatives East Midlands are holding an event during Co-operatives
Fortnight aimed at showcasing the very best of co-operatives from around
the East Midlands, *The East Midlands Co-operative Showcase. *****

This is a wonderful opportunity to share and demonstrate the* UN 2012
talking points*:****
That co-operatives make a difference to local communities right across the
world - *'local impact on a global scale';*****
that co-operatives share, whether it's profits, wealth or time -

everyday people an equal say - *'owned by everyday people'* and that they
are diverse, vibrant and global -* 'co-operatives are bubbling up everywhere

We would be delighted if *your co-operative/organisation could join us by
having a stall/activity *as together we demonstrate the diversity, success
and opportunities available through the co-operative model here in the East
Midlands. ****

The East Midlands Co-operative Showcase is being held on the* 5th July 2012*,
at the *Jubilee Centre in Grantham* *11.00am - 4.00pm*, there is no cost
for a stall and refreshments are provided to exhibitors throughout the day,
with a coffee bar available to visitors. The Jubilee Centre in
the heart of Grantham has been selected to host this unique event due to
its location close to the geographical heart of the East Midlands. It is a
newly refurbished community facility that works co-operatively, and used to
be a Co-operative department store, with good disability access, excellent
parking facilities and close to primary road networks.****

We shall be promoting this event to politicians, decision makers, educators
and the local commercial sector along with the general public and would ask
for support in marketing the event through your own networks. Publicity
materials will be available shortly.****

Alongside the EM Co-operative Showcase we are also today launching a *
photographic/video competition* which is open to all ages and creative
abilities. * 'Capture the co-operative moment'* is open to individuals or
co-operatives themselves and not only are there cash prizes but we shall be
proud to place the winning photographs and videos on our soon to
be refurbished website and marketing materials - the deadline for entry is
5pm on the 20th June, so start snapping/filming today and take up this
fantastic opportunity to join in the fun and at the same time gain
promotion for YOUR co-operative. Rules and an entry form are attached.****
