[SSC] SSC - Notes from meeting (December 7th)

Thank you for these notes Sarah.

The things that struck me were:

1. I should have sent my apologies;

2. On Stop and Search, Stop and Frisk in the USA provides a useful entry point related to civil liberties: http://www.nyclu.org/issues/racial-justice/stop-and-frisk-practices Then there is the indiscriminate use of section 60 here: http://www.liberty-human-rights.org.uk/human-rights/justice/stop-and-search/index.php

3. I like the idea that the SSC might respond to policy statements, reports etc. from national bodies like HEFCE, QAA;

4. I won't make Thursday's co-ops event. I am very interested in any working group/research group looking at the idea of co-operative (higher) education;

5. on the new course, I like the idea of staring with the SSC and working out from that (towards the organising principles,/constitution, relationships, culture, forms of production and consumption etc.).

In solidarity,

Richard.
