coming up at the Lincoln School of Journalism. Both events begin at 6.15
pm in the Jackson Lecture Theatre, Main Campus. They are free and open
to the public - there is no need to book.

25 February: Ian Sinclair: Giving Peace a Chance: Reporting War - and
the Anti-War Movement

Ian Sinclair is a freelance writer living in London. He writes regularly
for a number of progressive publications such as Tribune, Peace News,
the Morning Star and Red Pepper. His first book, The march the shook
Blair: An oral history of 15 February 2003, has just been published by
Peace News Press.

 

4 March: Dan Hind: "From mass media to public media: Radical change and
the politics of communication"

Dan Hind worked as a publisher for a little more than a decade, spending
time at Penguin, Constable and Robinson, Duckworth and Random House. He
was responsible for publishing a number of UK bestsellers, including
Fast Food Nation, Love All The People, The Best Democracy Money Can Buy,
The Corporation and Treasure Islands. In 2009 he left the industry to
write about media reform. He is now a regular column for Al Jazeera
online and works with the Centre for Investigative Journalism and the
Tax Justice Network. He has written two books, The Threat to Reason
(2007) and The Return of the Public (2010). He is also the author of two
online essays, Common Sense and Maximum Republic. His second book won
the Bristol Festival of Ideas Prize in 2011.
