People wanting to join initially as students can select an 'academic' membership there, as can academics who want to join -- the distinguishing point being whether they want to be actively involved in running the Centre in any capacity or rather have an Associate membership. In both cases, the inviation join a centre to 'be part of a unique experiment in higher education'. This is very much in the spirit of the Centre's objectives, and I think the new version of the paper form communicates that as well.
