Hello
Had a good meeting last night. Very brief notes:
1. ESF report back meeting. We thought it'd be good to get folk who went
to ESF, and those who couldn't make it, to talk about what happened,
what they got out of it etc - such a big event that lots of different
angles on this would be good. Tentatively pencilled in for 4th November,
but if people who would like to input into the meeting can't make that
date please speak up soon, and we'll choose a more convenient time. If
you know people who went down, please get on the blower and see if
they're interested in telling us about what they saw and did. Thought we
could also use the meeting for a what next for SSF type discussion
and/or folk getting together to plan particular actions, including the
following...
2. Tweedledee or tweedledum? Whoever gets elected to lead the largest
army the world has ever seen, we're gonna have ourselves a victory
parade around Sheffield on Saturday 6th November, meeting up 2pm at the
Peace Gardens for fun, frolics and theatre - including a victory speech
from the winner. More on this later...
3. SSF Forum. Inspired by stories from across Europe we were thinking of
having our next 'big event' in March, a year on from the launch.
Thinking of something similar in form - i.e. open space for lots of
workshops/chatting/grub/film that is participant led, but potentially
bigger in scope. The main point was we thought we really ought to start
planning it right away, with a view to getting other groups who are
interested to organise their own parts of the day, getting unions in etc.
That's all for now,
Kev
