30,000 children die every day just because they are poor. Make
Poverty History is a coalition of charities, campaigns, trade unions,
faith groups and celebrities who believe that 2005 offers an
unprecedented opportunity to end extreme poverty for good.

The official Sheffield launch of Make Poverty History is taking place
on Wednesday 16 February at 7.30pm in Arts Tower Lecture
Theatre 9. Please come and find out how YOU can help Make
Poverty History in 2005.

There will be speakers from Oxfam, Christian Aid, CAFOD, World Development
Movement and People & Planet and an opportunity for you to sign up for the
campaign and get a white band which is the symbol of Make Poverty History.
Fairtrade refreshments will also be available. The event is open to
students, staff
and Sheffield residents.
