>From looking at the website it doesnt seem as though the greens are standing
anyone in blunkets constituency.

Also i am not sure how much of an effect could be created with green party
propaganda. With all due respect, unlike hallam, not a huge amount of
people have university degrees so i doubt people will be too bothered about
tuition fees and the realities on the ground are that people don't have back
yard composting at the top of their priorities(!). More importantly is that
i feel that david blunket and new labour's record should be the thing to
concentrate on and if we apeal to people's intelligence then we should
counter new labour's vicous campaign of "tough on crime...." which has led
to the scape goating of assylum seekers and anyone who wears a hood. On one
hand they say that assylum and crime is out control and on the other they
claim that "new labour is working", the reality is that the fall in crime is
almost entirely due to the fall in unemployment which underlines the theory
that it is poverty and other underlying problems that cause crime and simply
locking people up is not a solution.

As for peter thatchel, I doubt huge amounts of people in sheffield even know
who he is and like other figres like george monbiot, somehow i don't think
that large numbers of people will change their voting prefernce because
thatchel told them too. I think it is only people like you and me who
avidly observe the internal sectarian fights in the far left.
