In reply to Brother Cuthbert: Look I'll say this again I find myself very
against (let's be positive and use the words "not for" in future..) front line
politics of shout, shout, walk from a to b etc: Very much into the community
and at the Democracy Cafe i was just floating ideas as such i found myself with
a task and upon conversation reflection about the task i.e. counter conferance i
got to thinking good idea now consider how many people would like to work with
mozaz i.e. reputation - his-story etc: so being a pragamtist i thought it cool
to move myself off from that task: it has always been in the last few years for
urbanparanoia to move on events, and only in the last few weeks have helped
precipitate(!) this:

Below is a copy of an email sent to mat t, i.e. can, it outlines a very basic
sketch of what we (ie me and armchair hippy) would like to happen if we acquire
the task of guest curators at Access Space:

It also goes very much into Dan's proposed plans for the SF project and Peace in
da Park where all roads seem to be leading etc:

Plus Dans idea of a publication and again here we can offer thoughts advice etc
as we have published our own zine i have been involved and had published three
books:

Just been given the task the do the front end of a url for another up and coming
Lowtech Project: this is the kind of politics i like - not stood shouting at
lines of tooled up police, being patranised from the front of a meeting etc:

It is about being inclusive not exclusive and the opportunity that have risen
last few days weeks are just that and hold very real opportunity for projects
like SF to move into and not some fucking ghetto of those who know and know
each other but, involving on a pro-active basis, the real community of
Sheffield. Not a self elected vanguard:

So here is the outline:

What do yer think to the idea of somekind of wall-space exhibition at
Access space sometime probably in the next 2 or 3 months? we are putting
ourselves forward as guest curators getting 3 artist(e)s to do 3 seperate
exhibitions over a 3 month period. Finer details not yet been sorted, just
putting out feelers but we were thinking of: a grafitti artist we know doing
up
four 4x4 ft quality boards that we've already made (1st Exhibition); CAN / SF
images - either photos of workshops, or images from the lantern carnival etc,
or both - or an idea of yours (i.e. u lot for 2nd Exhibition) & then getting
another known graf artist to do up the 4 boards again! (3rd Ex.)

This has got a bit of a Sharrow connection in itself - at least one of
the graffers lives there, i think, and always sprays up the basketball
court area of Mount Pleasant Park at the festival every year anyway. Access gets
part of its funding by being in the location, the Sharrow ward ends at the car
park! (and one of us lives in Sharrow now as well [allegedly] - or is it
Heeley?!)

Might be scraping the barrel there as a concept but we're not doing
funding or anything here, this is just a basic idea for us as facilitators
(keeps us out of trouble!) to bring local art and culture into another palce
nearby to where it's all happening.

Note: User Meeting at Access Space - Satday 22nd Jan 2-4pm where,
amongst other things, the proposal will be put forward for guest curators to get
on board (feel free to come down and see some stuff)

Cheers
mozaz
