I haven't got that much time or energy at the moment for doing stuff
but I guess if something fun, powerful and exciting was organised that
had some chance of changing things (or at least was noticed by the
wider community) I might want to get more involved.

I don't really want to go to meetings. I know the world is messed up
enough and don't really want to talk about it endlessly - its just
depressing.

Something like a big street party in the centre of town is the kind of
thing I mean.

I'm not over excited about the counter conference to the G8 in
Sheffield coz I suspect it will just be the same old faces plus a few
others talking about alternatives and then not doing anything.

What would be much more exciting would be an attempt to shut down the
conference or disrupt it some way. Putting a national call out and
getting some kind of mass action going here. But I'm not saying I'd
organise it. I'm busy with other stuff right now. But those are the
kind of things that would excite me and I'd want to go to.

And I suspect this is true for many others too. For instance the first
street party in Sheffield attracted around 1500 people. No meetings or
counter conference could hope ever hope get that many involved.

People want to change things - not just talk about changing things.
