There is a petition to save the Rutland Pub from rapacious developers here 
and it is growing fast

The Rutland Arms on Brown Street Sheffield is one of the finest traditional 
public houses left in the city today. A hazy haunt for filmmakers, 
designers, artists, dancers, football followers and builders it provides a 
cozy pint, a smile and escapism from a faceless city which is furiously 
regenerating itself. Staff at the Rutland have announced that the pub and 
its beautiful beer garden are due to close for good on Friday 22nd of 
December. Phil kept it going all this time and has now decided to move on. 
What we're concerned with, is that it stays as a pub, its uniqueness and 
importance recognised, protected and celebrated. IT SHOULD NEVER BECOME A 
BLOCK OF LUXURY APARTMENTS...............and remain a meeting place for 
everyone with good ideas.
