911 Conspiracy Theories

There are a lot of conspiracy theories about the events of 11th September
2001. The main one is the official explaniation, that Al Qaeda hijackers
flew planes into the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.

Capitalism is not a conspiracy theory it is an economic system.

What happened to WTC7 on 9/11?

7 World Trade Centre (WTC7, also known as the Salomon Brothers Building)
was 47 stories high, just 3 stories less than the highest building in the
UK, it was not an old building, construction started in 1984 and it was
completed in 1987. It was designed, and built by highly experienced
architects, engineers and contractors. WTC7 was not hit by an aeroplane on
September 11th 2001 but at 5:20pm, about 7 hours after the twin towers
came down it collapsed on it's own footprint at near free-fall-speed Prior
to the spectacular failure of WTC7 the building was emptied — firefighters
knew it was going to come down and they "evacuated the area as they
prepared for the collapse" (source).

Stuctural Failure of WTC7

Fires do not generally lead to the structural failure of steel framed
buildings, "The Twin Towers and WTC 7 are the only known cases of total
structural collapse where fires played a significant role." Dr. Bement,
NIST.

The NIST draft report into the collapse suggests that the failure of 3
columns (79, 80 and 81) out of 24 triggered the structural failure of the
entire building. When Dr. Sunder of NIST was asked why WTC7 and the fate
of the building was barely mentioned in the final report he admited that
they have "had trouble getting a handle on building No. 7.” This isn't the
final report, for that they have gone out to tender to get the answer from
external contractors. "NIST has seen no evidence that the collapse of WTC
7 was caused by bombs, missiles or controlled demolition."

9/11 Revisited concentrates on the collapse of the 3 world trade centre
buildings and includes news reports from the day and interviews with
experts including Steven E. Jones, David Ray Griffin and Jeff King. It is
available to view online and via Google Video and the the Internet
Archive.

A DVD has been ordered, it runs for 59mins.

War and Globalization - The Truth Behind September 11

This is a lecture, from 2003 by Michel Chossudovsky, a professor of
economics at the University of Ottawa. Michel Chossudovsky is the founder
of the Centre for Research on Globalization, the organisation behind
Global Research an extensive website dedicated to exposing the true nature
of globalisation. This video is a covers 9/11, oil and war, it is based on
his book, America's "War on Terrorism". Despite being almost 3 years old
it is especially pertinant today with the looming threat of war with Iran.

This video runs for 1 hr 56 min, if the interview at the end is omitted

9/11 Breaking the Laws of Physics

This is a lecture from 2006 by BYU Physics Professor Steven E. Jones on
the collapse of the WTC buildings on 9/11, it runs for 109 mins and it is
available from the Internet Archive and a DVD of it has been ordered. The
acadamic paper this presentation is based on is Why Indeed Did the WTC
Buildings Collapse?.

The 9/11 Commission Report

This is a lecture by David Ray Griffin, he is a professor emeritus of
philosophy of religion and theology, at the Claremont School of Theology
in Claremont, California and has written many books including The New
Pearl Harbor and The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions on
the official 9/11 Report. This lecture it runs for 59mins, it is available
from the Internet Archive and a DVD of it has been ordered.

Improbable Collapse

Improbable Collapse is not available on the net, one has been ordered but
it's not due to come out for a few weeks.

9-11 Open Your Eyes the War on Terror is a Lie

Filmed at the 9-11 International Inquiry (Toronto, May 2004) this is
available on DVD and from the Internet Archive it is 59mins long.

Not available online, a DVD has been ordered, the film has a web site it's

not play on vlc or mplayer in linux...

9/11 Citizens' Commission: An Open Inquiry into the Attacks of September 11th

This is a 6 hour long DVD so someone would need to buy a copy and then
work out which bits to screen...

San Francisco Inquiry

This is a set of 5 DVDs available from Global Outlook, there probably
isn't time to order, watch and select extracts from these considering that
there is so much other material.

International Citizens' Inquiry into 9/11

This is a set of 28(!) DVDs, see Toronto Inquiry for their listing, again
buying, viewing adn then selecting what to show is probably not
feasible... This is probably the raw material that was used to create 9-11

Since it's been on the telly it's not so important to screen this.

Loose Change

Loose Change 2nd Edition can be downloaded from Google video, it's very
slick but has many inconsistencies... is probably not really suitable for
a Indymedia screening...
