Presented by photographer and artist Yeavior, in collaboration with Ste
Emilie Skillshare. Through the visual art of photography, Yeavior presents
his unique visual representations of nature and patterns, as an artist and
migrant. Yeavior will also interweave his own personal narrative as a queer
migrant, in order to raise awareness about important social justice issues
when it comes to some of the barriers which migrants face in Canada when
seeking status.

Yeavior invites you to view his photography and learn more about migrant
social justice. Postcard versions of his photos and order forms will be
available for those who might want to purchase specific items. All proceeds
for will go to the artist and he will be in attendance.

Entrance is FREE!

*Yeavior’s Artist Statement*

There are so many questions to ask, there are many things that we can do to
make this planet a better place to live life equally, as nature should be.
Plant a tree instead of hate, smile rather than feel sorry, give a hand
because you never know what the future could bring, where you could be
hoping for help.

Fight means Light and Hope for those who wanted justice in the honest way
being who we really are. Is not fair, a system that does not care about
individuals and families or human rights. It’s an injustice, the government
lacks capacity on compassion and understanding.

Give us a pen to write, a safe place, a guide to follow the freedom. A
doctor to look after us, give us respect and education to live a decent,
equal life, a life on the same level. We don’t need rules to live, we need
rights to have a sense of our existence on this planet.

IS THIS TOO MUCH TO ASK?

*Artist Bio*

yeavior ® discovered his artistic abilities at an early age – as a child
spending his free time doing volunteer work, by drawing historical and
native characters, at a little school back in his homeland Nicaragua.
Experiencing his natural abilities at handicrafts and design, he determined
to pursue his design and creative ideas and to contribute to different
communities and cultures. Yeavior ® has recently been exhibiting his
paintings and photography in Canada , where, in 2009, has also contributed
to three Jumblies theatre productions. Furthermore, he has recently
presented his photography at the “Under the Bridge” exhibition, combating
violence against marginalized youth.
