The People Project & OutWords
Based out of Toronto, The People Project is an ever-growing movement of
spectrum youth; queer and trans folks of color and our allies, committed to
individual and community empowerment. We work to inspire critical and
creative spectrum youth leaders; to encourage community based conditions for
meaningful growth and cooperation, to challenge oppression in all forms and

SNAP! Moving to our own Beats PILOT PROJECT
This collective photography project is being organized in order to create
space for queer and trans racialized youth in Montreal an opportunity to
meet each other, exchange stories, create collective art and identify the
issues they face in their everyday lives. Moving to our own Beats is a
collaboration between Ste Emilie Skillshare and Ethnoculture, with the
support of Project 10. We are proud to be working with the People Project
and the Outwords program to highlight art works created by queer spectrum
youth across Montreal and Toronto. From this pilot project, we are aiming to
start a full length project in March 2012. If you are interested in getting

The People Project & OutWords
Ayant une base à Toronto, The People Project est un mouvement qui continue à
s’agrandir et qui est constitué de jeunes lesbiennes, gaies, bisexuels,
trans et queer (LGBTQ) de minorités culturelles et nos alliés. Nous
favorisons l’autonomisation des individus et communautés.  Nous travaillons
pour inspirer la créativité et la critique sociale des jeunes leaders
(meneurs) LGBTQ des minorités culturelles. Nous voulons promouvoir des
conditions communautaires pour une croissance significative et une
coopération, afin de contester l'oppression sous toutes ces formes. Nous
voulons développer des communautés résilientes qui vont lutter pour la

Chacun son rythme – lancement de notre premier projet
Ce projet de photographie  collective est organisé afin de créer un espace
pour les jeunes LGBTQ de minorités culturelles à Montréal, pour qu’ils
puissent  se rencontrer, partager des histoires, créer de l'art collectif et
identifier les problèmes qu'ils rencontrent dans leur vie quotidienne.
Chacun son rythme est une collaboration entre Ste Emilie Skillshare et
Ethnoculture, avec le soutien du Projet 10. Nous sommes fiers de travailler
avec The People Project et Outwords pour présenter les œuvres d'art créées
par des jeunes LGBTQ des minorités culturelles à travers Montréal et

Ethnoculture’s mandate is to organize community-based, bilingual

two-spirited, trans and queer people from ethnic, racialized and indigenous
communities in the Montreal area by prioritizing self-representation and
