Check with the printers but a better solution may be
to use postscript (a lower level than PDFs).

If you are converting it into another format, check
out the colour channels as they can change quite a
bit. The most printer friendly scheme is CYMK; RGB is
for computer screens.

Also good to give the printer any unsual fonts you are
using as well.
