why 2 hours for this?  you told me it only takes 30mins  ;o)

i've still got a box you supplied me that's ready for this but i always
seem to get stuck either just before or just after the portmap stage so
i'd be happy-ish to be a 'guinea pig'.  i'll bring me stuff over if you
like.
