*Phantoms at the Feminist Library: An Evening of Vampire and LGBT Fiction*

You are warmly invited to join us at the Feminist Library on the night
before Halloween for a spine-chilling celebration of gothic and LGBT
related fiction.
The evening will encompass readings by up-and-coming authors Eleanor Keane
and Liam Livings, alongside a reading from the work of the late Eileen
Cadman.
Wine and refreshments (including pumpkin cake) will be available, and The
Feminist Library bookshop will be open for business. All are welcome,
especially vampires.



*Eleanor Keane*’s *The Breathing Ghosts* is a work of dark fantasy for young
adults. It explores feminist and LGBT themes through the gripping exploits
of a young female vampire hunter who falls for the beautiful and reclusive
sister of her arch-enemy. Eleanor’s second book, The Ghosts’ Feast, takes
up many of the characters and ideas from her debut novel to create a
diverse and compelling

collection of short stories with undercurrents of desire, death and
vengeance.

*Liam Livings* is a gay fiction author. His first full-length novel is due
to be published by Wilde City Press in 2014 and he is currently helping to
plan the 2014 GLBTQ Fiction Meet, due to take place on 7-8 June in
Bristol. Liam’s work has been praised for its ‘rounded dynamic of
characters within a world that is immediately relatable.’

*Eileen Cadman* was a good friend and generous supporter of The Feminist
Library. Her novel, *Reflections of a Vampire*, is a ‘darkly erotic tale of
masks, mirrors and mysteries,’ following the emotional and sexual
awakening of a female vampire with a fatal flaw. Some of Eileen’s artwork
will also be on display at the event.
