This isn't a full intro, since it's late and I'm tired, but I thought
I'd just say a few words. I'll do the full intro on Monday.
Most of you probably read the IRC log from the 19th Feb:
http://pastebin.ca/1342652
That should give you a good flavour of who I am, in particular the
following links:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/gobuntu-devel/2007-October/000415.html
https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2008-June/msg00033.html
My brief involvement with the failed Gobuntu experiment was somewhat
less than encouraging, but nonetheless highly enlightening WRT
Canonical's agenda, and the archetypal Ubuntu mindset.
'Nuff said about that. Let's just say I shouldn't have raised my hopes.
Meanwhile I'm extremely disappointed with the direction Fedora is
headed. It's inclusion of Mono, and the clandestine manner in which that
happened, disturbs me deeply. AFAIAC it's over for Fedora, from my POV.
I actually got turned on to BLAG a while ago, but personal issues (a
death in my family, and other things) held me back from ... well pretty
much everything for a while.
My life is still rather chaotic, but one of the proposals I'm going to
make at Thursday's meeting should mitigate that. Leave that for later.
Meanwhile I'm committed to getting BLAG moving forward by prioritising a
stable 90002 updated and an 110000 release in conjunction with upstream.
I have many other ideas and suggestions, of course, but they take second
place to getting BLAG moving again.
I should also add that I primarily use AMD64 hardware, so x86_64 builds
won't get left behind.
That's it for now. Full intro on Monday.
Cheers.
