That is true, but it's not enough to meet the Free System Distribution
Guidelines.

If it did, it would have to conflict with most (all?) browsers shipped
in the upstream distro BLAG is based on, and a number of other packages
there.

That's because the kernel and the non-Free firmware packages are not the
only reasons why that upstream distro doesn't satisfy the FSDG; that's
why we need BLAG and similar distros.
